Travel luggage standards stipulate that the material name and composition must match the materials used in the product; the surface material uses more than 90% top-layer leather (excluding top-layer transfer leather), and can be marked as "genuine leather"; transfer leather and split leather materials should be marked with "transfer" and "split" respectively; for materials made of multiple components, if the leather base thickness is no more than 60% of the total thickness, it cannot be marked as "leather".

Recently, the Beijing Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce (AIC) released a public notice on the quality inspection results of luggage products in circulation. The inspection found that 22 luggage items failed to meet the standards, mainly in the vibration and impact performance. The affected products include well-known brands such as Louis Vuitton, LV, and GUCCI.

The Beijing Municipal AIC advises consumers to purchase luggage and leather goods through formal channels. When purchasing, carefully check for clear and durable markings, ensuring that the manufacturer's name and address, and other information are complete. Additionally, keep all relevant product documentation for a period of time after purchase. This is not only useful for product maintenance but also serves as crucial evidence in case of quality disputes.

Tips:

1. Identification

The standard for travel luggage stipulates that the material name and composition must match the materials used in the product; more than 90% of the surface material must use top-layer leather (excluding top-layer transfer leather), and "genuine leather" is permitted; transfer leather and split leather materials should be marked with "transfer" and "split" respectively; for materials made of multiple composite components, if the leather substrate thickness is no more than 60% of the total thickness, "leather" cannot be marked.

2. Vibration and Impact Performance

Travel luggage: Under the standard specified weight conditions, vibration and impact tests are conducted to inspect the straps, handles, and side handles. After testing, the components of the product should remain undeformed, without breakage, damage, or unraveling; fasteners and connecting parts should not loosen; the case should remain undeformed and without cracks; the pull handle should operate smoothly, remain undeformed, not loosen, jam, or detach, and the connection between the pull handle and the case should be free of cracks or looseness; the case lock should open normally.

3. Labels

The standard for travel luggage stipulates that product labels should include: product name, product standard number, specifications (model), item number, main material (facing, lining), etc. Incorrect label information can mislead consumers.
